Biotechnology is emerging as the fastest growing knowledge-based sector. India has the potential of becoming a global player in the biotechnology area. There is not only a need for the skilled workers in huge quantities, but thrust should also be on quality education to cater the specialized requirements of this sector both in research and industry.
